 Getting a good scholarship in a prestigious institution is as good an event as winning a lottery requires not only a lot of brilliant resume but also advanced preparation. Unfortunately, most students lose out for the lack of adequate information even if they qualify most parameters otherwise. In such cases, they either chose to not go abroad or are left fending for themselves with a meager remuneration earned by means of part time jobs.
Another interesting fact is that although there are several international and domestic scholarship trusts, only a handful offers the entire tuition and living cost. It is a good idea to atleast apply for as many as possible. The students must follow the instructions on the application form carefully. The scholarship essay should demonstrate high quality of candidature. Deadlines must be adhered to. Most importantly the referees should be briefed well and they should be willing to support your application. A recent survey revealed that most applicants who got scholarships were either exceptionally academically inclined, or had perfect records of extra-curricular activities, community service, great work experience or all of the above.
