Academic Council - Business |

The WLC Business School has established an Academic Council to define and regulate academic standards for all Business programmes of the College. The Academic Council meets to upgrade and fine-tune the curricula to meet industry requirements and determine plans for academic excellence. The members of the Council review all business programmes to ensure high standards of academic delivery. The Council also determines and verifies outcomes for the various modules taught in the programmes. In particular, the Academic Council is in charge of providing direction to the Board of Directors of the College in all matters pertaining to WLC's academic resources, programming, strategic planning, student affairs, and any other related academic issues.

 Mr. Thomas Barry
Mr. Thomas Barry is the Founder & CEO of Zephyr Management, L.P., a global private equity and marketable securities firm. He was also the President and CEO of Rockefeller & Co. He has held senior executive positions in T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. from 1969 to 1982. Among other responsibilities, he was President of T. Rowe Price New Horizons Funds, Inc., then the largest mutual fund specializing in small capitalization companies.
Mr. Barry received an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1966 where he majored in Latin American Studies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). |
 Dr. Madhukar G Angur
Dr. Madhukar G Angur is a David M French Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the School of Management, University of Michigan, Flint, USA.
Dr. Angur is an outstanding academician, erudite scholar, entrepreneur and Consultant to Fortune 100 Companies. He has been on the editorial board of several journals of international repute. His articles have appeared in various business journals. He has received numerous awards and recognitions. Dr. Angur is a member of the Governing Council of Alliance and spearheads several new initiatives including the Executive Education Program. He is an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal and IIM, Ahmedabad and has Doctoral Degree from University of Texas, USA. |
 Ms. Sejal Shah Gulati
Ms. Sejal Shah GulatIIs the Vice President of India Outsourcing and Business Development for Time Inc, a division of Time Warner. She has worked for Time Inc since 2002 in a variety of positions including Marketing Director for REAL SIMPLE and IN STYLE magazines. Before Time Inc, she worked at American Express Bank in marketing and business development.
Ms. Gulati has also served as a Trustee for Princeton University and is currently a member of the Executive Committee for "ASPIRE: a Plan for Princeton."
She is a graduate of Princeton University and has a MBA from Harvard Business School. |
 Mr. Suresh Madan
Mr. Suresh Madan is the Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Excalibur Capital Management Inc. He currently manages a $110 million equity portfolio focused on early-stage companies.
Mr. Madan has also managed funds for the multi-billion dollar Reichmann family for over a decade. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) with 25 years of international experience. Mr. Madan has been a management and financial consultant with several international companies including SB Billiomoria (now Deloitte and Touche). He is a widely acclaimed speaker and has delivered talks on various issues relating to financing early-stage companies and alternative public strategies. A gold medalist, he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and holds a MBA from the IIM, Ahmedabad. |
 Mr. Dave Suresh Ramaswamy
Mr. Dave Suresh Ramaswamy A reputed consultant in IT, product/business development and business strategy and New Media, Mr. Ramaswamy is presently a freelance Cross Cultural Consultant with General Electricals and McKinsey. His interests include international affairs, business, public policy and global economic development. He has worked with prestigious companies such as Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tribune Media Services in USA and XQueue Gmbh, Germany. Mr Ramaswamy is a Bachelor of Science from University of Illionois, USA and an MBA in Marketing, Strategy and International Business from the Kellog School of Management, Northwestern University, USA. |
 Mr. Varun Arya
Mr. Varun Arya is eminent professional with a rich corporate experience spanning two decades in leading companies like Indian Rayon, Reliance and American multinational DuPont.
He has specialized in sales & marketing, business development and SBU management. He is a member of several academic and professional bodies including the All India Management Association, Indian Institute of Public Administration, National Pool of Management Experts, Govt. of India. He is an Advisory Committee Member of the Education Promotion Society for India. He has been the President of the IIT Delhi Alumni Association, and Secretary of IIM Ahmedabad Alumni Association. Prof. Arya studied at IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad. |
 Prof. S Manikutty
Prof. S Manikutty is a Professor for Business Policy and Strategy at IIM, Ahmedabad. He has published numerous papers in internationally reputed journals. He has also conducted research on strategic issues related to business, telecommunication policy, WTO and universal service obligations.
Prof. Kutty is a member of a number of national and international business institutes and associations and of the Inter-Ministerial Advisory Committee on Universal Service Support Policy for Telecommunications of the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. He is a graduate from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers & Institution of Electrical Engineers (London). He also has a Doctoral degree from IIM, Ahmedabad. |
 Mr. Shiv Khazanchi
Mr. Shiv KhazanchIIs Head Private Banking, India & Global Indians for Standard Chartered Bank (SCB). He has over three decades of experience in corporate, retail and private banking in India and UK. After starting out with SBI, Mr. Khazanchi spent over 11 years with Grindlays Bank. His last assignment at Grindlays was as the Head of Public Sector Relationships within ANZ Investment Bank. In 1997, Mr. Khazanchi re-located to the UK with American Express Bank and held various responsibilities as the Head of the London office.
Mr. Khazanchi has a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and done a course in Investment Management from London Business School. |
